The Institute of Information Systems (iisys) is the central research facility for information technology at Hof University. It is a competence center for the application of information systems and bridges international research and development and its implementation in companies. The main research activities are in the filed of digital transformation in health, mobility and industry 4.0.

Research Associate (m/f/d)

What are the main tasks?

  • The role holder will join the research group “Law in Sustainability, Compliance and IT” and will support the team in the fields of compliance, data protection and IT law.
  • The research associate will develop step by step his/ her legal research techniques and the abilities of legal process modeling with focus on artificial intelligence applications.
  • The position includes drafting of presentations and applications for third-party funds.

What is important to us?

  • We expect you holding a master’s or bachelor’s degree in law or similar with an outstanding grade.
  • An ideal applicant is keen to get deep knowledge in the fields of IT law, data protection and computer science.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS-Office, especially Power Point, is essential.
  • We expect you having very good English language skills (fluently, spoken and written).
  • German language skills would be beneficially.

What do we offer?

  • The post is ideal for an early career researcher who wishes to further his or her skills in legal research within a challenging research project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
  • We offer scientific training in a dedicated team of young researchers.
  • The position is limited to one year in the first instance, part-time or full-time. Renewal will be reviewed after one year.
  • The position starts at 1st February 2020.
  • The employment contract is based on the public service regulations of the Free State of Bavaria (TV-L). The salary is graded for a bachelor’s degree by 12 TV-L (app. € 41.500) and for a master’s degree by 13 TV-L (app.   € 46.000).
